Favorite Resources:
- IRV2.com - Probably my favorite RV site for technical info. Navigate to their forums and find topics for the various types of RV's i.e. Motorhome, 5th Wheel, Travel Trailers, etc. Their search engine works very well also, so give it a try.
- FMCA.com - Also has forums and info specific to Motorhomes.
- RVTrader.com - An excellent sales site for surfing through new & used RV's of all shapes and sizes.
Soapbox: RV Dealerships certainly serve a valuable service when necessary. But you will find that your time and money can be best utilized by becoming a DIY proponent and getting that sense of accomplishment that goes with a successfully completed repair or upgrade! Yeah Baby!
Reality Check: Now, I'm not saying that you won't make a mistake now and then, that's part of the process. Even the dealers make plenty of mistakes on installations and repairs. Just ask other RV owners you cross paths with and the stories can go on indefinitely!
It's OK to recognize your limitations, but don't forget to recognize your abilities also! In varying degrees we all have the capability of taking on some of our own RV related improvements, upgrades, and repairs. So don't be afraid to tackle some of those future RV projects yourself. There is a multitude of information available to us thanks to the worldwide web. Take advantage of it, do the necessary research, and get those hands dirty! It's a GREAT feeling!!
Thanks for visiting RVCentric! We will be making upgrades to the look and feel of the site as well as adding more content in the coming days/weeks. Keep checking back and watch us grow!
